From London’s East End to Surrey: Honouring the Founding of The Salvation Army
June holds special significance for The Salvation Army, as it is associated with the early beginnings of the movement that would become The Salvation Army in 1865 in London, England, through the work of William Booth. What began as a small Christian mission in the East End of London was founded on a deep desire to share the gospel while responding to the practical needs of people facing poverty and hardship.
A Summer of Discovery, Nature, and Community
Last summer, children at The Salvation Army Surrey Ministries enjoyed eight weeks of learning, creativity, and adventure through our community Summer Program. Running from the end of June through late August 2025, the program was designed to provide children with meaningful experiences centred around food security, sustainability, environmental learning, and community connection.

Serving Hope Every Thursday: Inside Our Weekly Food Distribution Service
Together, we are At the core of our weekly outreach is the Thursday Food Distribution—a practical, community-focused program that provides free groceries to anyone in need. Thanks to generous donations from our local supermarket partners, Prakash No Frills and Walmart on 88 Ave!creating a lasting impact in our community—one act of kindness at a time.
