Finding Connection This Fall
As summer winds down and routines begin again, fall is a wonderful time to reconnect—with others, with community, and with a sense of belonging. At The Salvation Army – Surrey Ministries, we're excited to welcome participants back to two of our community programs this September: Senior Program and Pink Days.
Launched in February 2026, our Senior Program was created to provide a safe, welcoming space where seniors can build friendships and reduce social isolation. We recognize that many older adults experience loneliness for a variety of reasons, whether it's living alone, health challenges, limited mobility, or the loss of loved ones. Having a place to gather regularly can make a meaningful difference.
Over 10 sessions from February to June, participants enjoyed games and engaging activities, light exercise, monthly guest speakers, devotional time, and a shared lunch. More than just a weekly gathering, the program has become a place where meaningful conversations happen, new friendships are formed, and everyone is welcomed with care and respect.
This September, we're excited to continue creating opportunities for seniors to laugh, learn, stay active, and enjoy community together. Whether you're looking to meet new friends, spend time with others, or simply try something new, we'd love to welcome you.
