Finding Connection This Fall
As summer winds down and routines begin again, fall is a wonderful time to reconnect—with others, with community, and with a sense of belonging. At The Salvation Army – Surrey Ministries, we're excited to welcome participants back to two of our community programs this September: Senior Program and Pink Days.
Launched in February 2026, our Senior Program was created to provide a safe, welcoming space where seniors can build friendships and reduce social isolation. We recognize that many older adults experience loneliness for a variety of reasons, whether it's living alone, health challenges, limited mobility, or the loss of loved ones. Having a place to gather regularly can make a meaningful difference.
Over 10 sessions from February to June, participants enjoyed games and engaging activities, light exercise, monthly guest speakers, devotional time, and a shared lunch. More than just a weekly gathering, the program has become a place where meaningful conversations happen, new friendships are formed, and everyone is welcomed with care and respect.
This September, we're excited to continue creating opportunities for seniors to laugh, learn, stay active, and enjoy community together. Whether you're looking to meet new friends, spend time with others, or simply try something new, we'd love to welcome you.
We're also happy to announce the return of Pink Days, a program designed to bring women together in a supportive and encouraging environment. Pink Days provides a welcoming space where women from different backgrounds can connect, build friendships, and have open, respectful conversations about feminine hygiene and women's wellness. It also offers opportunities to encourage one another, share experiences, and learn in a caring, judgment-free setting where every woman is valued.
At The Salvation Army – Surrey Ministries, we believe that strong communities are built through meaningful relationships. Connection has the power to uplift, encourage, and strengthen us, and everyone deserves a place where they feel seen, supported, and valued.
Whether you're a senior looking for companionship or a woman seeking community and support, we invite you to join us this fall. We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces as our programs resume in September. Together, let's make this season one of friendship, belonging, and hope.
The Senior Program will resume on September 11, 2026, and will occur on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month until December 4, 2026. As for the Pink Days, the program will resume on September 23, 2026, and will occur every other Wednesday until December 16, 2026.
