Salvation Army Supports Retiree Dealing with Food Insecurity
Retired life has been a journey of ups and downs for Shirley Dolph
from Fort Frances, Ont. As someone who lives alone, inflation has made
it challenging to make ends meet at times.
“I am a widow and I’m retired. I basically live paycheque to
paycheque,” Shirley says. “With rent and the cost of food and bills,
sometimes it gets hard. I look at food prices sometimes and realize I
can’t afford it.”
